Fellow Scorpio Emma Stone celebrates her birthday today turning just 22 years old, which is totally making me feel ancient right now.
She's a relative newcomer making her film debut only three years ago in Superbad. A year later, she played minor roles in the hilarious The House Bunny and hilariously awful Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Climbing the ladder a bit higher she then appeared in almost-lead roles in indie-dramedy Paper Man and addictively fun Zombieland. In the latter she was practically the lead since she played the love interest (opposite Jesse Eisenberg who is making a name himself this year playing Mark Zuckenberg in The Social Network).
It was this year, however, when she finally broke through playing the undisputed lead in the well-liked Easy A. Most of the reviews praised Stone's portrayal of Olive Pendergast, the girl who everyone thinks has slept with everyone else. With her undeniable charm and obvious talent who knows how high she can go. A lot of people are even talking about a possible Oscar nomination (not likely, but I'm hoping for a Golden Globe nod).
What's next for her? According to her IMDb profile, she has 3-4 films coming out next year. But it's her role as Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man reboot that's getting all the buzz. The film is slated to be released in 2012 and she'll co-star with another relative newcomer/current "IT" young actor Andrew Garfield (who is, funnily enough, in The Social Network with Eisenberg). Here's to hoping both will come out a little more like Kate & Leo post-Titanic and a little less like well everyone else.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to drop me a line. Instead of being Anonymous though, pick a name. Any name would do. Thanks again!
