Kalinda Goes, NPH Hosts

Today was a busy pop culture day wasn't it? Stand-alone streaming service from HBO! Every Friends episode available on Netflix next year! Superhero films through the year 2020! Yet none of those made the cut for me tweeting about them. These two news report did though...

Yup, everyone's favorite leather-bound in-house investigator is leaving The Good Wife filling me with much sadness. Apparently Archie Panjabi recently signed a talent deal with 20th Century TV and will be headlining a drama pilot for them so at least we won't be without her talents for long. I, however, can still mourn the end of Kalinda and contemplate why the show's first breakout character and Emmy-winning role has been so wasted the past few seasons. Severing her ties to Alicia in the third season hurt, but it was the abusive husband storyline in the fourth season that seemed like the point of no return for the character as the writers then decided to stop any character development at all for her perhaps out of making the same mistake again. For the best drama in broadcast TV the past few years, it's the rare blind spot for them and I truly hope that at least with the end in sight they're able to craft an ending as brilliant as the character was in the first season. At the very least, they could have her share a scene with the Alicia, which apparently hasn't happened since season 4!

And finally, Neil Patrick Harris is finally hosting the Oscars! He'll emcee the upcoming telecast and it really is about damn time. I knew that as soon as How I Met Your Mother ended, it wouldn't take long for him to get asked and for him to accept. Apparently, they first asked Julia-Louis Dreyfus (which would've been fantastic also), but she turned them down. So instead, Harris will be just one Grammy hosting duty away from claiming the EGOT of hosting as he has already hosted the Tony Awards (to much critical acclaim) numerous times as well as the Emmy Awards. Mind you, he just won the Tony for headlining Hedwig and the Angry Inch (I saw him in it and LOVED it) *and* in the midst of a book tour to promote his autobiography. Where the hell does he find the time? It will be interesting that he'll be hosting the Oscars with his latest film, Gone Girl, already one of the front-runners for the award.

Greta Gerwig Books Surprise CBS Sitcom Gig

One of CBS' more high profile pilots in development for next season is the "spin-off" for the departing How I Met Your Mother, which is of course entitled How I Met Your Dad. The show is only a "spin-off" in the loosest sense of the word in that it shares the concept of the earlier show and most of the same creatives are involved. The new show, however, will feature new characters and will center on "Sally" who is described as a "female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she’s going in life."

Yesterday, it was announced that indie film queen Greta Gerwig has been cast as Sally with many bemoaning the fact that Gerwig is somehow selling out by attaching herself to not just a CBS sitcom, but a sitcom that's a spin-off of a show many thought has outstayed its welcome. While I don't really disagree with that last part, when How I Met Your Mother was good, it was great and I'm hopeful that with a slightly fresher slate, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas can work their magic once again. Gerwig's participation (not just as the lead, but as a producer and writer as well) makes me that much more optimistic for the show. I think her unique style and voice will be a big asset to the show and the exposure the show will give her could only mean good things for her in the long run. Frankly this is a win-win, provided the show actually connects with the audience.

The rest of the cast including Sally's best friend, Sally's brother, and her brother's husband have yet to be announced, but what I'm dying to know is who will voice "older Sally" who will serve as the narrator to the audience. Bob Saget filled that role in How I Met Your Mother, so if we're going to be picking from TV veterans, I kindly submit Lisa Kudrow or Helen Hunt. Any other suggestions?

Willow & Oz Together Again

Alyson Hannigan posted the picture above earlier today on her twitter to show her reunited with former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Seth Green on the set of How I Met Your Mother. As a longtime-fan of Buffy and especially a HUGE FAN of Willow/Oz, this made me ridiculously happy. It was like seeing a continuation of the Willow & Oz story.

But of course Hannigan and Green took it up a notch by posting this extremely adorable and unbelievably cruel picture later today...

I... just... I can't even really. I've the lost the ability to... whatever. I'm done. It really does look like Willow and Oz got their happy ending, didn't it?

Pawnee Breaks Bad

The sound I made when Alan Sepinwall broke the news this afternoon that Jonathan Banks would be appearing in Parks and Recreation this upcoming season was practically inhuman. You see, Breaking Bad, where Banks played the inimitable Mike Ehrmentraut, and Parks and Recreation are not just two of my favorite TV shows, but my top two favorite TV shows. Having this casting crossover made my day. It got better when I found out that he would be cast as the father of Adam Scott's Ben Wyatt and that he would be playing a very Ehrmentraut-esque character. Now I wonder what he would think of Leslie or Chris... or even better yet Ron Swanson.

Speaking of Ron Swanson, he's getting a love interest of sorts and the casting people yet again picked perfectly by asking Xena Warrior Princess herself, Lucy Lawless to play the role. This was announced a few weeks ago, but coupled with today's news, I'm now more excited than ever for the new season of Parks and Recreation, which is just one week away! Everyone watch!

Navratilova Will Dance

This should prove interesting. And by "this" I mean Martina Navratilova, who turned 55 just four months ago, joining the cast of this year's Dancing with the Stars. I guess the early exits other tennis pros like Monica Seles (four years ago in DWTS) and Martina Hingis (three years ago in Strictly Come Dancing) experienced in these types of shows didn't scare her off. But then again this is a woman who defected from Czechoslovakia in her teens, publicly came out as gay at the peak of her sports career, and beat breast cancer just a couple years ago. Getting judged at some silly dance competition should be a piece of cake. Now, I can't say I'll be watching since I'm just not interested in the show, but I'm rooting for her regardless.

Other notable famous people in this year's line-up include Gladys Knight, Jaleel White, Gavin DeGraw, and Sherri Shepard.

New Sitcoms Featuring Boys Who Like Other Boys

Just as Cam & Mitchell from Modern Family were getting used to sharing the Gay Parents spotlight on TV with Leroy and Hiram from Glee, both might have some company next season with a few guys playing boyfriends in a couple of sitcoms.

First, Ryan Murphy is working in bringing a sitcom to NBC about a gay couple trying to make a baby with a surrogate. The gay couple will be played by Broadway hotties Andrew Rannells (Book of Mormon) and Justin Bartha (Lend Me A Tenor) though the latter is probably more well-known for his roles in popular film series such as National Treasure and Hangover. Currently titled The New Normal, it'll also star Ellen Barkin and Georgia King.

The other show, this time slated for CBS, is from the creators of Will & Grace called Partners and will look similar to their earlier show in that it'll follow the lives of longtime friends, one straight and one gay. This time though they are both men and are business partners. Michael Urie, who was Mark in Ugly Betty, will play the gay half of this friendship and his boyfriend will be played by Brandon Routh who everyone knows as Superman, but who I fondly think of as Ramona Flowers' third ex with super vegan powers. The straight half of the partnership is still not cast, but Sophia Bush and Lucy Davis are also set to star.

I think at this point it's not 100% sure yet if the respective networks will pick these shows up though with the names behind the camera and everyone loving The Sitcom again, chances are we'll probably see these shows premiere sooner rather than never. Of course cast changes can still happen between now and the shows' season premieres, but I have to admit I'm already looking forward to these. And I swear it's not just because of the obvious eye-candy.

The Year of Gosling

As you are reading this, I'm probably inside a nice air-conditioned theater watching Crazy, Stupid, Love starring the suddenly ubiquitous Ryan Gosling. Seriously, if you count Blue Valentine, which for most people only came out sometime in January, he has four films this year. The real shocking thing is not really the number of films he has done this year, but the fact that all of them are quality films, playing wholly different characters.

Granted I have only actually seen Blue Valentine as I write this so who knows what's in store for the other three films? But Crazy, Stupid, Love is getting solid reviews especially for a summer romantic comedy while Drive was already hit at the Cannes Film Festival. And when you factor in people's reaction to the newly released trailer for The Ides of March with the pedigree of its cast and crew, it's quite likely that film will be an Oscar contender this year.

And thus speaking of Oscars, will Gosling get his second nomination after a great year such as this? Unfortunately, competition is tough and his age and pretty boy looks are actually working against him. Plus it seems someone else is always siphoning the praise from Gosling no matter how deservedly it may be--Michelle Williams was the sole Oscar-nominee for Blue Valentine; Steve Carrell is the lead in Crazy, Stupid, Love; Nicholas Winding won Best Director for Drive at Cannes; George Clooney wrote, directed, and starred in The Ides of March.

Then again, maybe he just makes every film or every actor he works with look that good. All I know is, I'll be partaking in "The Year of Gosling" by seeing each and every one of his films on opening weekend. One Two down...

Awesome Guest Star Casting Day

Perhaps it's because the networks are prepping for the TCA Press Tour happening in the next few days, but somehow a bunch of TV shows announced some excellent casting decisions today...

David Anders
, most recently appearing in Vampire Diaries, will always be Julian Sark to me. This TV season though, he's guest starring on the new show Once Upon A Time. I was actually left lukewarm by the teaser shown during upfronts earlier this summer, but this casting news along with all the praise from critics is making me optimistic. At the very least, it's a show I will make sure to check out in the fall.

Fresh from his Emmy-worthy guest role on United States of Tara, Eddie Izzard is heading into the court room to go head-to-head with another strong-willed wife and mother in The Good Wife. I'm thinking Julianna Margulies will have her hands full with Izzard as the opposing counsel.

Party Down and Freaks & Geeks alum Martin Starr will appear in an episode of Community next season as a poli-sci professor. Already this month, the show has announced John Goodman and The Wire's Michael K. Williams to guest star next season. Goodman will play a rival dean while Williams will tackle being a biology professor.

Last, but certainly not least, Parks and Recreation finally cast the ever mysterious Tammy 1, Ron Swanson's first wife, and it is none other than Oscar-nominated Patricia Clarkson! If there ever was a woman to strike fear in Megan Mullaly, it'd be her, and I'm so looking forward to the interaction she'll have with real-life couple Mullaly and Nick Offerman. The latter, by the way, was unfairly snubbed by the Emmys yet again. Had to be said.

The Totally Awesome Totally Tentative Cast of The Hobbit

So it seems like that long-awaited Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit is going to happen. Maybe. I mean you can't blame me for questioning all the news that everything is A-OK and that this movie is ready to be filmed after the insane history it has had from legal fights about money and rights to the studio going bankrupt to settling on a director to getting everyone's schedule in line. In fact, there's even an infographic about the tortured history of this film.

With that said, let's say everything is set and the cast is ready. What a cast would it be, at least according to what's on IMDb at this very moment. Let's take a closer look shall we?

Two of my favorite actors, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom, are back and since they played elves in the first and are also naturally beautiful, their appearances should be a no-brainer. Elijah Wood, who played the protagonist to the initial trilogy, is also back probably as a way to bridge the two set of movies together. Finally, Christopher Lee is returning as Saruman, but while he's still able to work, seeing him receive a BAFTA Fellowship this year just reminded me that the clock is ticking and people are not getting any younger! This movie needs to start filming now.

Two newcomers to the films are Martin Freeman who will play the titular hobbit and Saoirse Ronan as presumably another elf what with her delicate and fine features. Now would be the time to let you know that I actually have no clue about any of the characters in The Hobbit as I've never read the books and that all my knowledge of Tolkien's classics solely comes from the previous films. With that said, I've enjoyed Freeman ever since I saw him in Love, Actually and more recently in Sherlock Holmes and Ronan has just been exquisite in everything she's done so far and at such a young age.

But that's not all. Of course Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis will reprise their roles from the first films. In fact, they seemed to be the two that have always been attached to this project even with all the drama this production has endured. Ian Holmes is also rumored to be back and I hope he does albeit playing an older version of the character he played last time.

Now this is where this cast goes from epic to an epic of epic epicness. Richard Armitage and Aidan Turner appear to be confirmed to play dwarves. I love both of them from Robin Hood and Being Human respectively so I'm very excited for their casting. The one problem I do have is the tragic fact that all of their beauty is going to be hidden behind makeup, costumes, hair, and CGI. What a waste! Though don't think I missed those two rumored names... David Tennant and Leonard Nimoy? You mean two actors who played two of the most iconic characters in science fiction in two of the most popular sci-fi shows of all time? ALL TIME. Don't mind me, I'm just hyperventilating here. If these casting rumors do happen, fanboys (and girls!) from Bangladesh to Los Angeles will collectively cry in ecstasy.

Of course, it's also possible that by the time I post this there's a new wrinkle for the project to worry about. Leonard Nimoy hates the script! Ian McKellen quits the movie to do Broadway! Martin Freeman-Aidan Turner sex scandal! Cate Blanchett beats Peter Jackson to death! Or you know, maybe not. The first film is tentatively scheduled to be released on December 2012. Yeah, okay, we'll see.

Meryl Streep to Appear in Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy

Finally! It has happened! My prayers have been answered! Meryl Streep and Lisa Kudrow will finally appear on screen together. Granted it will be on the computer screen rather than the small or silver screens, but I'll seriously take what I can get.

Deadline broke the news yesterday of Streep joining fellow Vassar College alum Kudrow in her web series Web Therapy (co-produced by another Vassar grad Dan Bucantinski) which I've already mentioned here previously. The article says Streep will have a 3-episode arc during the fourth season of the web series which apparently is set to begin any day now.

Before reading the article, I thought Streep would actually appear on the half-hour TV series that Showtime has picked up based on the web series. But maybe her role is open-ended and she can come back? Then maybe they can star in the movie version together? And since we don't really know much about her character yet, what if she played Fiona's mom! Okay, I'm getting way too ahead of myself. Can you blame me?

American 'Being Human' Cast Pic

A couple months ago, I talked about the then recent casting news of the three principal players to head up the American version of British genre show Being Human.

Well now we have our first picture of the three actors--Sam Huntington, Sam Witwer, and Meaghan Rath--on the set, seemingly dressed as their characters. Huntington is wearing scrubs as per his job while Rath is wearing a very similar outfit that her British counterpart wears. Witwer has the tight dark clothes down, but no fingerless gloves? A pity.

The American remake will premiere on SyFy sometime in January while the original British version will air its third season early next year.

Twilight & Batman Casting News

Someone give Lee Pace another TV show or a leading role in a movie worthy of him, because the poor boy is slumming it by being cast in the fourth Twilight film! Now I realize that actors need to work and this is a very successful series that is sure to make tons of money. But Twilight? Seriously? I guess it wouldn't be so bad if he didn't JUST star in two of 2010's most eye-rollingly awful movies, When in Rome and Marmaduke. I mean, really? Only a few years back he was nominated for an Emmy for his lead role as Ned on Pushing Daisies as well as getting raves for his leading performance in The Fall. He even showed off his singing chops against Amy Adams in the utterly delightful Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day.

Granted he's not the only one. Dakota Fanning, Golden Globe nominee Bryce Dallas Howard, and BAFTA-nominee Michael Sheen also couldn't resist the lure of Twilight. Plus Pace is not the only newcomer on board for the fourth film. A ton of people were recently cast including Maggie Grace (Lost), Mia Maestro (Alias), Rami Malek (The Pacific), and Joe Anderson (Across the Universe). So for all of their sake, I'm hoping the quality of the book (and thus the movie) goes up drastically from earlier ones. Doubtful, but after all, the film will also be directed by Academy Award winner Bill Condon. Then again the problem(s) for this series has never really been its direction.

In other casting news for a likelier better film, Tom Hardy has apparently been cast in the third Christopher Nolan-helmed untitled Batman film. First time I ever saw Hardy was this summer in Inception and was duly impressed so I'm glad he's getting this opportunity again to flex his stuff for a big audience. Of course now begins all of the guesswork as to which character he will actually play. Since I'm not really familiar with the extended list of characters in the Batman universe, I won't join in the conversation, but I trust Nolan. The choice will be inspired and hopefully a tad unexpected.

Recent TV Casting News

The past day or so, there have been so many exciting TV casting news that I could barely contain my excitement and had to post them immediately.

Emmy-winning pair Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn, who captivated audiences in Lost, will apparently be starring together in a hit man drama show produced by no other than J.J. Abrams. NBC won the bidding war and has committed to a pilot order for the still untitled show. While most of the actors in Lost were great, these two were really something special, especially in scenes together, so suffice it to say, I'm really excited for this project. I'm hoping it's a little less drama and more of a dramedy akin to Abrams' Alias and current Undercovers which contain a few campy asides. I also wouldn't say no to other Lost alums guest starring! Make it so!

I love to keep tabs on Buffy the Vampire Slayer alums, so it was great to hear that two of them will guest star in shows I actually watch. First Eliza Dushku will follow in Katee Sackhoff and Summer Glau's footsteps and appear in geeky hit Big Bang Theory, though unlike those two other actresses, she won't be playing herself. The other alum is Amber Benson, who will play a patient's sister in Grey's Anatomy. Showrunner Shonda Rhimes is a self-confessed big Buffy fan and it's worth to mention that Benson had appear in the Grey's spin-off Private Practice before. She, however, won't be playing the same character.

And finally, the most random and awesome TV casting news came out yesterday when it broke out that Teri Hatcher would play Lois Lane's mom in the final season of Smallville. To those who do not know, Hatcher played Lois Lane to Dean Cain's Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which aired for four seasons back in the 90s. Now,+ I don't watch Smallville and have not really been a fan of Hatcher since the 90s, but this casting coup deserves some kudos both to the Smallville folks who had the sense of humor to go for it and to Teri Hatcher who didn't need to do this at all. Well done to everyone involved.

Meet the Avengers

Meet the cast of The Avengers who made their official debut this past weekend at Comic-Con. From the left, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man/Tony Stark), Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk/Bruce Banner).

The big casting news, of course, is Renner and Ruffalo, the latter stepping into the role played previously last decade by Eric Bana and Edward Norton. God to many geeks (like me), Joss Whedon, was also confirmed as the director of this massive undertaking from Marvel Studios.

To be honest if Whedon wasn't attached, I would probably see a few of the stand-alone movies here and there and then look forward to the inevitable crash and fall of such a big project. Instead, now I'm just praying this doesn't fail miserably and that this indeed will all work out in the end. Once a Whedonite...

At the very least, hearing RDJ introduce Whedon made my knees weak and my heart jump a bit. Watch the one-on-one introductions of the entire Avengers team during Comic-Con below.

Being Human: Red, White, & Blue

This Independence Day, I want to talk about recent casting news for the American version of the British genre show I absolutely adore, Being Human, to apparently air on SyFy network. The show is about a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf living together in one apartment going through the usual stuff young 20-somethings go through while also dealing with being preternatural creatures living amongst human and other (more hostile) supernatural beings.

Sam Witwer has been cast to play the role of Aiden, the vampire. In the original series, the character's name is Mitchell and is played by Aidan Turner. In terms of looks and acting, they both got that deeply brooding kind of intensity going on. In the little I've seen of Witwer (Battlestar Galatica, Smallville), the casting seems to be right on the money.

In the role of Molly, the ghost, they went with relatively unknown Meaghan Rath. I have no idea how she will do compared to the radiant Lenora Crichlow who plays Annie in the original series. This is probably the trickiest role of the three as the character is called to play submissive, vengeful, goofy, and inconsolable sometimes in the same episode!

Finally, Sam Huntington was chosen to play Josh, the werewolf, originated by the adorkable Russell Tovey in the British version as George. I've seen Huntington in a few things and he seems to play dorky guys to a default, which is a plus for this character. Will he match up with Tovey's ability to also turn in a devastating performance? Time will tell.

One of the things that makes Being Human a cut above the shows its type is the chemistry among its main cast. While I'm still reluctant to give this version my full blessing (I don't see why they couldn't just air the fantastic British version to American audiences), I'm trying to keep an open mind especially since the people working on the American version are the same as the original.

Meet Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Andrew Garfield has officially been cast to play Peter Parker in the new Spider-Man reboot, just three years after the third and latest Spider-Man filled headlined by Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

While I still think this reboot is completely unnecessary, or at the very least, happening way too early, I admit that I'm now just a bit intrigued. First of all, it's being directed by Marc Webb who most recently directed one of my favorite films of last year, the absolutely delightful 500 Days of Summer. And now that Andrew Garfield has been cast in the titular role, this ill-begotten project got even better since I've had the pleasure in admiring his previous work in Doctor Who, Boy A, and the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Sure, he's no Donald Glover, but I'm looking forward to seeing what Marc and Andrew could do with this reboot. As a side note, with an expected release schedule of July 2012 for the film, Andrew would actually be older than Tobey Maguire was when the first Spider-Man came out.

With all of this said, he's still a relatively unknown, but 2010 is a big year for him. He's set to appear in two very different, but ambitious and buzz-worthy films, Never Let Me Go and The Social Network.

Charming Casting Choices

Casting directors are making me very happy right now. It seems like some of my favorite actors are getting gigs to TV shows I actually watch!

David Anders played my favorite sexy agent on Alias and was also one of the few highlights on Heroes when that showed started its freefall in quality. It's insane that he hasn't had a more regular role anywhere, but come January he'll be joining the cast of 24 which already picked up Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff.

Another Alias alum will make an appearance on TV this fall. Gina Torres, who played kick-ass babes Anna Espinosa in Alias and Zoe in Firefly will join the cast of Gossip Girl as the mother of one of the kids. As recently as this year she has appeared in Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money. Hopefully this doesn't mean Gossip Girl will get cancelled.

Finally, there's James Marsters who is more famously known as the bleached-blonde vampire Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but he also appeared in Torchwood as Captain John Hart. It was announced recently that he is joining the Battlestar Galactica spin-off Caprica this fall for a "sizable arc."

All in all, I'm very excited to see these actors on my screens soon. Now someone get Lee Pace some work! Now!

Apollo Visits Dollhouse

Emmy showed them no love, but at least the cast of Battlestar Galactica is getting some work. Back in June, it was announced that Katee Sackhoff will be joining 24 as a regular cast member and now her star-crossed lover has found a new gig in the fall.

News from Comic-Con is that Jamie Bamber will be guest starring in at least one episode of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse this fall. Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly seems to confirm this news via a Fox insider so while this news can still be proven false, I really really hope it's true. It would be nice to see Bamber on American TV again since he's so far been busy across the pond with Law & Order: UK.

Plus it's Dollhouse! Not only will he be working with Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku but he'll most likely share scenes with his Battlestar Galactica co-star Tahmoh Penikett who plays Paul Ballard. Actually who knows if he'll be sharing scenes with Tahmoh. There's still very little information of what character Bamber will be playing, but who's hoping he's a doll that we just never saw before? Mmm...

Heigl In, Knight Out

As Grey's Anatomy ended last season, fans saw George O'Malley played by T.R. Knight and Izzie Stevens played by Katherine Heigl in a sort of limbo afterlife as both of their characters were in the brink of death. It was also fitting since the two actors have had persisting rumors of wanting out of their contracts and/or not being satisfied with the show.

This past Wednesday, EW.com broke the news that at least one character will die and thus the actor will not come back to the show next season. That character was Dr. O'Malley and so goodbye to T.R. Knight. Click on that link to EW.com for more information, but he pretty much got what he wanted by being released from his contract.

And now comes word from Hollywood Reporter that Katherine Heigl's option has been picked up for next season so it seems that Dr. Stevens will be back after all. Sadly, I think this will make me less inclined to watch next season. I never liked the Izzie character so I would've been happy to see her leave the show, but more than that, her character surviving pretty much cheapens her entire journey with cancer. Now I bet she'll have memory loss. Joy.

Granted, I know I'm still going to watch it, but like Heroes this show is just freefalling right before my eyes. How sad.

Jack Bauer Recruits Starbuck

It's only been a few months since the last ever episode of Battlestar Galactica, but I'm already missing the cast. I followed Jamie Bamber to his recent gig on Law & Order: UK. And now I will be able to follow Starbuck next season since Katee Sackhoff has officially joined 24.

According to Hollywood Reporter, she will be playing Dana Walsh, a data analyst at CTU. Hopefully this doesn't limit her to a role being behind a desk, because I want to see her kick some ass along side Jack Bauer. She will also be playing the love interest of the character that is being played by Freddie Prinze Jr. That casting I'm having trouble accepting, but maybe it'll turn out he's a villain and Katee will get to beat him up or something.
