What's important to note, however, is that critics DO NOT choose who win at the Academy Awards. They may help in narrowing the list of potential nominees and highlighting films and performances that may have been forgotten. Do you see Avatar or District 9 on these lists? Barely, but watch out for them to get multiple nods at the Oscars. Of course critical favorites Kathryn Bigelow, Christoph Waltz, Mo'Nique, and Up seem likely to repeat their award season domination at the Oscars.
